Group Exhibiton Connecting to Collections 2: Destinations
Curated by Lisa Daniels.
Connecting to Collections 2: Destinations is a provocative installation that exposes the dynamic engagement between historical objects and contemporary creative voices. The exhibition juxtaposes work from Gallery Lambton’s permanent collection with work by contemporary Canadian artists who are not necessarily represented in the collection.
Destinations will feature key pieces from Gallery Lambton’s permanent collection including work by: Rita Letendre, Joyce Wieland, Michael Snow, Lawren Harris, Emily Carr, Edwin Holgate, Ron Martin, Joanne Tod, William Kurelek, David Craven, Sarah Anne Johnson, A.Y. Jackson and Agnes Depew. Alongside these favorites, work by some of Canada’s most important contemporary artists will be featured including: Jin-Me Yoon, Diana Thorneycroft, Adad Hannah, Rebecca Belmore, Douglas Copeland, Stephen Andrews, Kent Monkman, Tim Lee, Kelly Mark, Edward Burtynsky, Lynn Richardson and Iain Baxter.
